Whispered Deceptions

This poem tells the story of a deceitful child who spins webs of lies, initially gaining trust but ultimately facing the consequences. In an environment, where mischief does dwell,

Lived a story, whose tales I shall tell,

With silver tongue and cunning deceit,

He spun his webs of falsehoods, oh so sweet.

His friends, they trusted his every word,

But little did they know, how much he stirred,

With lies upon lies, his deceptions grew,

And the child's true colors began to show.

One day, with a mischievous grin on his face,

He ventured far from his familiar place,

To a distant city, he claimed to explore,

Leaving behind his parent's peaceful shore.

To his parents, the child lied yet again,

Of visiting neighbors, a falsehood so vain,

Unbeknownst to him, danger lay ahead,

As the city's shadows covered him with dread.

Kidnapped by strangers and held for ransom,

His deceitful ways had led him to this chasm,

Fear gripped his heart as he longed to be free,

Realizing the cost of his deception spree.

Upon his release, shaken to the core,

The child learned the price of lies and more,

His friends forgave but, now saw through his guise,

No longer blinded by his cunning disguise.

With remorse in his eyes and a burden so great,

The child vowed to change, to amend his traits,

For honesty is the cornerstone of trust,

A lesson learned, oh how he was thrust.

So let this story be a warning for all,

To resist the temptation of deception's call,

For in the end, the truth shall prevail,

And lies only lead us toward an empty trail.
